On this day, 121 years ago, July 3, 1904 (May 20, 1904, the leader of the Zionist movement, Herzl, died of illness. Herzl, the pioneer of Zionism, passed away on July 3, 1904 at the age of 44. He founded the Zionist Movement, which was committed to establishing a Jewish state in Palestine. Herzl was born in Budapest and attended school in Vienna. From 1891 he became a reporter for the Vienna newspaper Neue Freestyle. The New Freedom Press is one of the leading newspapers in Europe. In France, Herzl worked as a journalist and reported in detail on the Dreyfus incident. In 1896, Herzl published the pamphlet "The Jewish State". The book envisions an independent Jewish state as a solution to Europe's anti-Semitic problems. Herzl also organized the annual World Zionist Movement Congress. He traveled several times to Constantinople to meet with the Ottoman sultan to gain a charter to establish an independent state in Palestine. But none of them succeeded.
