On today 96 years ago, on June 8, 1929 (May 2, 1929 in the lunar calendar), Zi Jian Nanzi case. On June 8, 1929, the progressive teachers and students of Qufu No.2 Normal University in Shandong Province angered the feudal forces represented by Confucius because they performed the anti-feudal historical drama "Zi Jian Nanzi". The two waged a sharp struggle, causing an uproar in the society. This was the "Zi Jian Nanzi case" that once caused a sensation in the whole country. Reason: Mr. Lin Yutang created a one-act historical drama "Zi Jian Nanzi", which was published in the October 1928 issue of Runliu. On June 8, 1929, teachers and students of Qufu No.2 Normal University in Shandong Province performed this play in the school auditorium. It is said that the performer thought that Lin Yutang had anti-feudal intentions in compiling this play, but his militancy was not strong, so he revised the play, "adding the content against Confucius, making it not only combative against the old etiquette, but also comic to satirize Confucius' behavior". In the play, Nanzi sings "The Book of Songs? The Wind? The Mulberry". This is a poem that expresses the affair between men and women. The content of the first chapter is: "If you pick the Tang Dynasty, you will be in your hometown. Who thinks, you are beautiful and meng ginger. I am in the mulberry, and I want to go to the palace and send me to Qi." In the play, Confucius paid a visit to Nanzi, "moved by Nanzi's delicate beauty, and his soul was lost". Kong Chuanyu, the head of the Kong clan, sued the president of Qufu No.2 Division and the student union to the Ministry of Education for "insulting the ancestor Confucius" in the name of 60 families of the Kong clan, and forwarded the complaint to Chiang Kai-shek through Kong Xiangxi, Minister of Industry and Commerce, and at the same time complained to Qufu County Government. Chiang Kai-shek ordered the matter to be "strictly investigated", and the Ministry of Education sent Zhu Baoqin, a counselor, to handle it together with He Siyuan, director of Shandong Provincial Department of Education. The conclusion was that the Confucius government's accusation was "unfounded" and that "the teachers and students of this school did not seem to deliberately insult Confucius", and the Ministry of Education announced that "it should be exempted from discussion". Confucius refused to accept it and appealed again, and Chiang Kai-shek once again ordered "strict investigation". As a result, Song Huanwu, the president of the Second Division, was transferred, and Wang Zongpei and Liu Ziheng, two presidents of the student union, were expelled from school.
