Thirty-two years ago today, on July 25, 1993 (June 7, 1993 lunar calendar), the Memorial Hall to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea opened in Dandong. On the morning of July 25, 1993, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the opening ceremony of the newly expanded Memorial Hall to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea was grandly held in Dandong City. The memorial tower of the memorial hall is engraved with the seven characters "Memorial Tower to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea" inscribed by Deng Xiaoping. Jiang Zemin, Li Peng and Liu Huaqing, Vice Chairperson of the Military Commission, inscribed inscriptions for the memorial hall respectively. Jiang Zemin's inscription is: The spirit of patriotism, internationalism and revolutionary heroism of the Chinese People's Volunteers will shine forever. Li Peng's inscription is: Commemorate the great victory of Resisting US Liu Huaqing's inscription read: The martyrs who died gloriously in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea will live forever! Hu Jintao, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Secretariat, Chen Muhua, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, General Chi Haotian, state councilor and minister of defense and member of the Central Military Commission, and Hong Xuezhi, vice chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the opening ceremony.
