Public opinion in Hong Kong generally believed that the China government made smart decisions, had courage, boldness and won the hearts of the people. An old lady held the hand of relatives participating in a tour group and said excitedly: "Deng Xiaoping should be 100 years old in Changchun!" By the end of November, 5,000 Hong Kong people had signed up for their relatives in the province to participate in the "Hong Kong Tour", and more than 2,000 people had signed up in Guangzhou. After 1984, more and more people signed up, and for a period of time they even had to wait in line for several months to get their wish. "Hong Kong Tour" has gradually increased to 3, 4, and 5 groups per month. In addition to taking trains to Hong Kong via Shenzhen, tour groups can also go directly to Hong Kong by water from 12 ports in the province. After Guangdong launched the "Hong Kong Tour", China's travel agency system also launched the "Hong Kong Tour".
