Today, 79 years ago, on December 20th, 1946 (November 27th, 1946 in the lunar calendar), Ho Chi Minh published the Call for the National Anti-Japanese War. On November 20, 1946, French customs officers in Haiphong caused a life incident and took the opportunity to put forward an ultimatum, demanding that the Vietnamese armed forces withdraw from the city and port. On November 24, French warships and artillery bombarded Haiphong residential areas for several hours, killing more than 20,000 people. On December 19th, the colonialists began military operations in Hanoi, the capital of the * Republic of Vietnam, and launched a full-scale war of aggression against the Vietnamese people.
