126 years ago today, on June 12, 1899 (May 5, 1899 lunar calendar), biochemist Lippmann was born. Lippmann, a German-American biochemist, was born in Germany on June 12, 1899. He shared the 1953 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine with Krebs for the discovery of Auxiliary A. He has conducted research work in the laboratory of Myrhuiff Jr., the Karlsberg Foundation Institute for Biological Research in Copenhagen, and Cornell Medical School in New York City. From 1941 to 1947, he served as Director of the Biochemistry Research Department at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and from 1947 to 1957, he was a professor of biochemistry at Harvard Medical School. He discovered a catalytically active and heat-resistant factor in pigeon liver extract. It was isolated in 1947 and determined its molecular structure in 1953. It was named coenzyme A. In 1957, he became a researcher at the Rockefeller Institute in New York (now Rockefeller University). Note: Lipman is famous for three.
