King Robert II of the Capetian Dynasty of France died

Robert II le Pieux (March 27, 972-July 20, 1031) was the second king of the Capetian Dynasty in France.
He was the son of King Hugo Capet, whose mother was Adelaide of Aquitaine. He was born in Orleans. Due to the extreme weakness of the early Capetian dynasty, Robert was crowned king while his father was still in power.
In 996, Robert II was excommunicated by Pope Gregory V for marrying his cousin Bertha.
In 1016, Robert II incorporated the Count of Burgundy. He had crowned his son Henry I king in 1027.
