Thirty years ago today, on October 3, 1995 (August 9, 1995), the President of Macedonia was assassinated and injured. On October 3, 1995, Macedonian President Gligorov was injured by a bomb on his way to work. According to the Malaysian state TV, Gligorov has been taken to the hospital for rescue and he is conscious. According to witnesses, at 10:15 am on the 3rd, the "Mercedes" car of President Gligorov was hit by a remote-controlled bomb in a Renault car parked on the side of the road on the way to the presidential palace. The president's driver was killed on the spot and Gligorov was injured; three other pedestrians were seriously injured, and several cars were blown up. The killers, two men from Titoveles, Macedonia, were caught on the spot. Gligorov, 78, has been president of Macedonia since January 1991.
