On this day, 51 years ago, on August 2, 1974 (June 15, 1974 in the lunar calendar), my country's first batch of teachers to assist Tibet rushed to Xizang. On August 2, 1974, in order to support the development of education in Xizang, Shanghai, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Henan, Hunan, Sichuan and various departments of the State Council selected 389 teachers to work in Tibet. The foundation of education in Xizang is relatively weak, and teachers are particularly lacking. The first batch of 389 teachers with rich teaching experience who assisted Tibet overcame many difficulties such as hypoxia on the plateau and were determined to take root in the border areas and contribute to the development of education in Xizang. They are assigned to teach in eight middle schools and will assist the local government in setting up teacher colleges in Lhasa and other places to solve the problem of teachers.
