On June 13, 2009, according to the Russian Tass News Agency, Bashir Oshev, former Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Republic of Ingushetia, was assassinated in the city of Nazlan in the republic on the same day. According to reports, Oshev was shot at the door of his house in the central district of Kamaz in Nazlan City that day and died on the way to the hospital by ambulance. The police have started an investigation into the case. Buzultanov, chairperson of the law and security committee of the Ingushetia parliament, said the assassination was aimed at destabilizing the situation in the republic.
