On this day, 82 years ago, on August 13, 1943 (July 13, 1943 in the lunar calendar), the Kuomintang "demoted officials like hair, and demoted generals like tide." Sun Liangcheng, commander-in-chief of the Kuomintang's Ji-Cha Theater Theater Command, and others visited the military parade in Japan after surrendering to the Japanese army. From the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War to August 1943, a considerable number of Kuomintang civil and military officials and combat troops surrendered to the Japanese army. Among them, 20 were members of the Central Committee and 58 were generals above brigade commander. The number of troops who surrendered to Japan reached 500,000, accounting for 62% of the total 800,000 puppet troops, thus creating a situation where "officials surrendered like hair and generals surrendered like waves." On August 13, the Liberation Daily published the "Overview of the 58 Traitorous Generals of the Kuomintang in the Past Two Years". The editorial of the Liberation Daily said: "At present, people are singing a folk song: 'New recruits with new guns, veterans with old guns, experts in civil war, and outsiders in foreign wars'. It accuses the Kuomintang to expand its direct troops with excellent equipment, exclude non-direct troops, compromise and surrender, and incite the perverse actions of civil war, reminding the people of the whole country to be vigilant and thoughtful."
