"My best work is you". This is a joke that the famous French writer Dumas told his son Dumas Jr. Dumas was also a famous writer in the world. He was born on July 27, 1824, the illegitimate son of his father and a seamstress. But Dumas did not recognize his son for many years, and he never recognized Dumas's mother as his wife. This personal mental trauma influenced his writing, and throughout his life he made exploring the moral issues of capitalist society a central theme of his writing. His most successful novel was "La Traviata", published in 1848. The protagonist, Margaret, is a very beautiful rural girl; she comes to Paris to make a living and unfortunately becomes a prostitute. A rich young man, Amand, loves her wholeheartedly, arousing her yearning for a love life. But Amang's father objected to the marriage, forcing her to leave Amang. Amang did not know the truth, sought to humiliate her, and finally caused her to die with hatred in the midst of poverty and illness. This love tragedy was an angry protest against the hypocrisy of the bourgeoisie. In 1852, Dumas adapted the novel "La Traviata" into a play, which caused even greater repercussions. Since then, he has devoted himself to drama creation. In his life (he died in 1895), he has written more than 20 plays. The more famous ones such as "The Money Problem", "The Bastard Child", "The Dissolute Father", etc., most of which are based on women, marriage, and family issues, and reflect life in capitalist society more realistically. The works are genuine and natural, with rigorous structure, fluent language, and rich lyrical atmosphere.
