Twenty-eight years ago today, on September 26, 1997 (August 25, 1997 lunar calendar), 234 people died in the crash of an Indonesian "Airbus A300" passenger plane. An Indonesian passenger plane crashed near Medan, the capital of North Sumatra, Indonesia, on the 26th. All 222 passengers and 12 crew members on board were killed. According to reports, the "Airbus" A300 passenger plane of Indonesian "Hawk Kee" Airlines crashed at about 1:10 pm local time on the 26th in the village of Sibolangi, Delhi's Serdang County, 40 kilometers west of Medan. The plane took off from Jakarta and the crash was related to factors such as smoke and poor visibility over Medan.
