On this day, 31 years ago, on October 20, 1994 (September 16, 1994 in the lunar calendar), Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Nazriyev was killed in an explosion. On October 20, 1994, Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Nazriyev was killed 200 kilometers east of Dushanbe. At about 8:00, Nazriyev's car suddenly hit a landmine while driving. He and a guard died on the spot. Nazriyev is 55 years old and is mainly responsible for industry, energy and other aspects in the government. Nazriyev is the second deputy prime minister of Tajikistan to be killed this year.
