93 years ago today, on August 10, 1932 (July 9, 1932 in the lunar calendar), most of the Qiongya base area was captured by the Kuomintang. Female Soldiers in Qiongya Red Base Area In August 1932, the Kuomintang army attacked Yangshan District, Qiongya Red Base Area, with superior forces. The Second Red Regiment fought with the enemy for several days, but failed to repel the enemy's attack. The troops suffered heavy losses, and only more than 300 people broke through and moved. The Kuomintang army also concentrated its forces to attack the Qiongdong Soviet Area, where the Qiongya Special Committee of the Communist Party of China was stationed. Under the command of Division Commander Wang Wenyu, the Red Regiment fought fiercely with the Kuomintang army for two days, and then covered the transfer of the special committee to Murui Mountain. Since then, revolutionary base areas such as Qiongdong, Lehui, Wanning, Lingshui and Yaxian have been occupied by Kuomintang troops.
