On this day, 118 years ago, on July 29, 1907 (June 20, 1907), the Englishman Robert Baden Powell launched the Boy Scouting Movement. Robert Baden Powell July 29, 1907. The famous British general Baron Baden-Powell recruited 12 upper-class and 29 lower-class teenagers and spent two weeks in the forest on the Brown Sea Island in Poole Harbour.
