Feng Yuxiang, who dreamed of uniting Yan against Chiang On July 3, 1929, Yan Xishan was ordered by Chiang Kai-shek to imprisoned Feng Yuxiang. After the first military conflict between Jiang and Feng, Feng sent people to Taiyuan to discuss with Yan Xishan the matter of jointly opposing Chiang. However, Yan did not make a clear statement. He only expressed his opposition to civil war, advocated peace, and tried to lure Feng into Jin. On June 24, Feng and his wife and daughter entered Jin from Huayin. After being bribed by Jiang, Yan was lured over by Jiang in early July, citing Feng's inconvenience in living in Jinci, he lured Feng into moving to Jian 'an Village, Wutai County and placed under house arrest.
