On this day, 77 years ago, October 10, 1948 (September 8, 1948 in the lunar calendar), the Tashan blocking battle of the Liaoshen Campaign. In the Tashan blocking battle, the People's Liberation Army launched an attack. On September 12, 1948, the Liaoshen Campaign began. Lin Biao and Luo Ronghuan led the Northeast People's Liberation Army to launch an attack, and successively conquered Changli, Luanxian, Xingcheng, Suizhong, Yi County, and the Kuomintang troops in Liaoning were divided into Jinzhou, Jinxi, and Shanhaiguan areas.
