On this day 104 years ago, November 7, 1921 (October 8, 1921 lunar calendar), Mussolini founded the Fascist Party. Mussolini was giving a speech in praise of fascism. On November 7, 1921, Mussolini declared the Fascist Party a Nationalist-Fascist Party and claimed to be its "president", that is, its leader. This Italian-based movement began in 1919 as a reaction to the post-war revolutionary movement. It has been madly opposed to communism. Before the war, Mussolini was the editor of the daily newspaper of the Socialist Party in Milan, La Marche. Mussolini believed that the Bonomi cabinet at the time would not last long, and he stepped up to further disrupt the political situation in order to finally seize power. Sure enough, in February 1922, the Bonomi cabinet fell. After Bonomi came to power, the political situation in Italy deteriorated further. In July, under Mussolini's coercion, Fakta stepped down. The government's incompetence further inflated Mussolini's ambitions, and soon he was "marching into Rome".
