66 years ago today, on December 30, 1959 (December 1, 1959 in the lunar calendar), my country's first ballet troupe was established. On December 30, 1959, my country's first ballet troupe, the Beijing Dance School Experimental Ballet Troupe, was established in Beijing. This ballet troupe is mainly composed of recent graduates of the Beijing Dance School Ballet Club, as well as some young teachers and students. In his speech, Xia Yan, Vice Minister of Culture, encouraged the first batch of ballet dancers in the history of our country to rely closely on the leadership of the party and train them into a red and professional artistic team. At the same time, they must study hard and work hard, strive to absorb the nourishment of China traditional dance, and make ballet a nationalized and mass art that will take root, grow and bear fruit on the land of China. At present, this newly born ballet troupe already has a certain number of plays. Their performances such as "Swan Lake","Sea Man" and "Fish Beauty" have been widely familiar and loved by Beijing audiences.
