Twenty-eight years ago today, on July 6, 1997 (June 2, 1997 in the lunar calendar), the rescue work of the epic "Gesar" was basically completed. In July 1997, the work summary and commendation conference of "Gesar" was held, and it was announced at the meeting that the rescue work of the heroic epic "Gesar" was basically completed. "Gesar" is one of the three heroic epics in our country, which is widely circulated in the areas inhabited by Tibetans and Mongolians. It is not only a great literary work, but also an encyclopedia for studying the history of relations between ancient Tibetans, Mongolians and various ethnic groups in our country. Over the past 10 years, the researchers of "Gesar" have gone through hardships to rescue and collect more than 100 woodcuts, manuscripts, and oral copies of "Gesar", published more than 40 epic books and more than 10 monographs and journals on epics, and also unearthed a group of outstanding "Gesar" rap artists.
