132 years ago today, on December 5, 1893 (October 28, 1893 lunar calendar), the Qing government and the United Kingdom signed the "Sino-British Conference Collection and Seal Articles". On December 5, 1893, China and the United Kingdom signed the "Conference Collection and Seal Articles". Britain provoked the first war of invasion of Tibet in March 1888, forcing the Qing government to sign the "Sino-British Conference Collection and Seal Treaty" on March 17, 1890. The Qing government recognized Zhe Mengxiong as under the protection of the United Kingdom. In order to solve the problems of trade and nomadic negotiation left in the Tibet-India Treaty, the representatives of the two sides resumed negotiations on the armistice front at the end of 1891. On December 5, the two sides signed the "Tibet-India renewal contract" or "Tibet-India Negotiated Annex" and "Tibet-India Clause" in Darjeeling (Zhe Mengxiong Territory). A total of 12 articles. Contents: Open Yadong as a commercial port, Xu British merchants had free trade, and the British were allowed to station personnel here; 5 years of duty-free trade on the Tibetan, Indian and Zhe borders; Restrict the traditional nomadic rights of the Xizang people in Zhe Mengxiong (now Sikkim). The "Tibet-India Treaty" and the "Tibet-India Clause" are unequal treaties, which are the result of British military aggression and the Qing government's compromise and surrender diplomacy. The local patriotic army and people of Xizang were firmly opposed to British aggression and refused to recognize the two treaties.
