On August 18, 1946, CCP members Luo Shiwen and Che Yaoxian were secretly murdered in the Zaodong Prison of the "Sino-American Cooperation Institute" in Chongqing. Luo Shiwen, born in 1904. A native of Weiyuan, Sichuan Province, he joined the Chinese Socialist Youth League in 1923. In 1925, he went to study at the Oriental University of the Soviet Union. In 1928, he returned to China and served as the Propaganda Director of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee. In June 1929, he led the Seventh Mixed Brigade Uprising of the Sichuan Army with Qui Jixun and others to form the Sichuan First Route Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army. In June 1931, he served as Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China. After the Red Army joined forces in northern Shaanxi, he was freed and served as a professor at the Red Army University. In 1937, he served as the secretary of the Sichuan Temporary Labor Committee of the Communist Party of China. The following year, he served as the director of the Eighth Route Army Office in Chengdu. Che Yaoxian, born in 1894. A native of Dayi County, Sichuan Province, he served as the commander of the Sichuan Army and the chief of staff of the division. He joined the Communist Party of China in the winter of 1928. He later served as a member of the Western Sichuan Military Commission of the Communist Party of China. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Che Yaoxian and Luo Shiwen worked together in Sichuan United Front.
