He was 79 years old. Comrade Hans Miller is a German national of China. Born in Dusseldorf, Rhineland in 1915, he received a doctorate in medicine from the University of Basel, Switzerland in 1939. In the same year, he was introduced by Liao Chengzhi and Epstein to Yan 'an, and sent 600 boxes of medical supplies and a large ambulance from abroad to assist China's War of Resistance to Yan' an. In the difficult war years, he contributed to the liberation of the China people with his selfless work spirit and superb medical skills. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he fought with China soldiers and civilians on the Taihang Mountains, treating injuries and saving lives for the anti-Japanese soldiers; in Yan 'an International Peace Hospital, he treated countless sick and wounded; during the War of Liberation, he served as the director of the Field General Hospital of the Hebei, Chare and Liaoning Military Region.
