The action-oriented and targeted plan reflects the demands and wishes of women around the world in various fields such as politics, economy, society and culture from a global perspective. Over the past 10 years, under the promotion and influence of the Nairobi Strategy, the cause of women around the world has made unprecedented new progress. In March 1992, the 36th meeting of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women accepted the invitation of the China government and decided to hold the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. The theme of the conference is "Action for Equality, Development and Peace"; the sub-theme is "Education, Health and Employment". The purpose of this conference is to comprehensively monitor, review and evaluate the implementation of the Nairobi Strategy in order to promote the renewed political commitment of the international community and governments to pursue equality, development and peace through action. Representatives from 197 countries and regions, as well as representatives of international organizations and non-governmental organizations, held a lively debate on issues such as eradicating poverty, stopping war, stopping violence against women, and eliminating inequality between men and women in an equal and realistic atmosphere, and achieved relatively consistent opinions.
