Today, 519 years ago, on May 20, 1506 (April 28, 1506), Columbus died. Columbus and his followers embarked on the New Continent, Christopher Columbus, born in 1451 to a family of Genoa fabricers. In 1476 he escaped to Portugal. In believing that the Earth Circle had been sailing from Europe to the west to the east, he had suggested to the Portuguese king to open the way to India and China. In 1485 he migrated to Spain. In 1492 the Western king ordered him to carry the Chinese Emperor's Book, lead a ship across the Atlantic, to the Bahamas, Cuba, and Haiti. Since then, in 1493, 1498, 1502 and again three Western trips, he travelled to the islands of Little Annes, Jamaica, Trinidad and the coast of South America
