On June 18, 2005 (May 12, 2005 in the lunar calendar), Chinese architect Shen Zuhai passed away. Photo: Shen Zuhai Shen Zuhai (August 8, 1926 - June 18, 2005), a native of Shanghai, was the founder of Senhai International Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company and Shen Zuhai Construction Joint Office. During his more than 40 years in Taiwan, he created many miracles with many well-known buildings and won many architectural-related honors, including Taipei World Trade Center and Taipei International Convention Center, all of which were designed by him. In June 2005, after Shen Zuhai's architectural firm established a branch in Shanghai, on the 18th of the same month, due to a myocardial infarction, after giving his last public speech at Tongji University in Shanghai, he unfortunately passed away in his Shanghai mansion at the age of 80.
