Photo: Liu Deyi Liu Deyi (January 1945-June 15, 2008), formerly known as Liu Deyi, a native of Chongqing, China, was born in Ziyang County, Sichuan Province (now Yanjiang District, ziyang city). He was a late famous actor and one of the top ten comedians in Bashu. One of the Sichuan dialect TV dramas starring him is very popular in Sichuan, Chongqing and even the entire southwest region. Liu Deyi, a native of Ziyang, Sichuan Province, was born in February, 1945. In 1957, he was admitted to the training class of Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theatre to study arts. He learned from Li Wenjie and Liu Yuneng, famous Sichuan Opera, and graduated in 1965. He was assigned to the Second Troupe of Chongqing Sichuan Opera Theatre as a harlequin actor. In his spare time, he studied as a screenwriter. Self-written and performed Sichuan Opera Ling Tangyuan won the second performance of Sichuan Opera in 1985, the Excellent Screenwriter Award and the Excellent Actor Award. The play has been published in Sichuan Drama and Chongqing New Works, and co-created Sichuan Opera Tiger and Wolf Love, which was published in Sichuan Drama Monthly and Chongqing New Works. He has created and staged many large and small plays of Sichuan Opera. He was a member of Chinese Dramatists Association, a member of Sichuan Branch of China Television Artists Association and a director of Chongqing Branch. He served as a member of Chongqing CPPCC for two consecutive terms; He won the Outstanding Screenwriter Award for the TV series "Ling Tangyuan" at the first national video competition (issued by the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television), and the second prize for the feature film (the first prize is vacant); The second "Silly Teacher" won the first prize of feature film, outstanding actor award and outstanding screenwriter award; Winner of "Five One Projects" Award in Chongqing, Sichuan Province in 1995; In 1992, Sichuan won the first place among the top ten actors, one of the top ten comedians in Bashu, and the winner of the special contribution award in Bashu Comedian Challenge. Liu Deyi lost his wife in his later years, then married a young girl who was 40 years old apart, and wrote a "love affair". At 2: 00 a.m. on June 15th, 2008, Liu Deyi had a sudden heart attack, but the rescue failed. He died at 2: 45 in Wenjiang District People's Hospital, Chengdu, at the age of 64.
