40 years ago today, on August 15, 1985 (June 29, 1985 lunar calendar), the Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Invaders was completed in Nanjing. The Memorial Hall of the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Invaders was built by the Nanjing Municipal People's Government of China to remember the Nanjing Massacre incident created after the Japanese army occupied Nanjing on December 13, 1937. It is located in a mass grave located in one of the original Japanese massacre sites on Chating East Street, Jiangdongmen, West of Nanjing, China. It was completed and opened on August 15, 1985. The museum covers an area of 25,000 square meters and the main building area is 2,100 square meters. The museum maintains the original topography and is built into a commemorative tomb. On the right side is the large black characters "Victims 300000" engraved in Chinese, English and Japanese characters.
