On this day, 113 years ago, November 28, 1912 (October 20, 1912 in the lunar calendar), Liang Qichao ended his exile and returned to Beijing. After Liang Qichao returned to China, the Democratic Party headquarters immediately held an interim meeting. On November 28, 1912, Liang Qichao ended his exile and returned to Beijing, where he had been away for 14 years. Since September 21, 1898, when the Empress Dowager Cixi launched a coup d'état, imprisoned Emperor Guangxu, and arrested and killed the activists of the 1898 Reform Movement, Liang Qichao fled to Japan. Overseas, he organized the "Qing Yi Bao" and advocated "censure the descendants and protect the emperor"; raised funds for the self-reliant army; and organized loyalty to the king.
