On this day, 62 years ago, on October 23, 1963 (September 7, 1963 in the lunar calendar), the State Council decided to establish the Agricultural Bank of China. On October 23, 1963, the plenary session of the State Council held its 136th meeting. The meeting decided to establish the Agricultural Bank of China as a directly affiliated institution of the State Council and submitted it to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for review and approval. The meeting also approved the changes in administrative divisions of some counties, cities, flags, and autonomous counties in Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Sichuan, Guizhou and other provinces and autonomous regions.
