On August 9, 1994, the celebration of the completion of the maintenance of the Potala Palace was held in Deyang Building of the Potala Palace in Lhasa City. The Potala Palace with earth, wood and stone structures was first built in the 7th century AD and is now rebuilt in the 17th century. The main building is 13 stories high and 119 meters high. It is the highest altitude in the world and integrates the Tibetan and Chinese architectural styles of palaces, castles and monasteries. The Potala Camp in Xizang has a supreme historical, religious and cultural status. This is the first comprehensive maintenance of the Potala Palace in 340 years.
