On this day, 96 years ago, November 11, 1929 (October 11, 1929 in the lunar calendar), China regained the British Concession in Zhenjiang. On November 11, 1929, British Minister to China Lampson noted a note to the China government and agreed to formally return the British Concession in Zhenjiang to China on the 15th. China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent Zhen Jiang Guan Supervisor Dai Defu as the receiving commissioner. After consultation, the China government allocated 68,000 yuan as compensation for the British. On the 15th, China and the UK held a formal handover ceremony.
