101 years ago today, July 13, 1924 (June 12, 1924 in the lunar calendar), the Anti-Imperialist Movement Alliance was established. On July 13, 1924, the publication of the alliance's organs, more than 50 groups including the Beijing Student Federation, Political Life Weekly, the Socialist Youth League, the Marxist Theory Research Society, the Human Rights Movement, the Women's Communist Society, and the China-Russia Association for the Advancement of the Communist Party of China held a founding meeting of the Anti-Imperialist Movement in Central Park in Beijing, stipulating that the purpose is to overthrow the aggressive policy of imperialism and abolish all equality treaties. The conference elected Duke Hu Egong and other 15 executive members. The "Journal of the Anti-Imperialist Movement Grand Alliance" was soon published. Shanghai, Wuhan, Hunan, Shandong, Tianjin and all walks of life have also organized anti-imperialist alliances. The alliance's initiative to designate September 3 to 9 as the "China People's Anti-Imperialist Movement Week" was supported by progressive groups across the country.
