Breaking-News >> TodayHistory July 5, 1911 French President Georges Pompidou's birthday
On this day 114 years ago, July 5, 1911 (June 10, 1911 lunar calendar), French President Pompidou was born. On July 5, 1911, Pompidou was born in Montboudive, France. His parents were excellent teachers, and as teachers they hoped that their son would become a university professor. At the age of 3, he had already excelled in kindergarten. Pompidou knew more words and read more books than other children. He was very polite to people from an early age, but like some smart children, he liked to play pranks with his teachers and often insinuated the teachers with some puns. If he hadn't become president later, he might have become a writer. In middle school, he grew into an attractive child who was very attractive to girls. In his eyes, there was only one girl from Paris, with whom he was in frequent contact and he wanted to marry her. But the girl's parents strongly opposed it. His first love ended painfully. Later, Pompidou was admitted to a normal school with excellent grades. He performed well during his military service (he worked for General de Gaulle), and it was believed that he would have a good future. After his tireless efforts, he finally became the president of France. He and his wife Claude were very much in love. Pompidou once said, "I have only made up my own mind three or four times in my life. I got married, left university, worked for General de Gaulle, left government and politics, entered private enterprise, and the rest is not my own decision."
