Seventy-two years ago today, on August 30, 1953 (July 21, 1953), Qiu Shaoyun was posthumously recognized as a member of the Communist Party of China. On August 30, 1953, the Party Committee of the Volunteer Army recognized Qiu Shaoyun, a great soldier and a first-class combat hero, as a member of the Communist Party of China. Qiu Shaoyun (1931-1952), a native of Tongliang, Sichuan, joined the Chinese People's Volunteer Army in 1951. On October 11, 1952, during the struggle on the 391 Heights west of Jinhua in the Korean counterattack, he and the whole platoon of soldiers were ordered to lurk at the foot of the mountain more than 60 meters away from the enemy at night, and wait for the next evening to cooperate with the large army to launch an attack. At noon on the 12th, he was burned by an incendiary bomb. He endured severe pain and persisted until he sacrificed heroically, ensuring the victory of the entire battle. He was awarded the title of Korean Hero, the Gold Star Medal, and the First-Class National Flag Medal.
