On this day, 58 years ago, September 2, 1967 (July 28, 1967, the "Beast of Buchenwald" hanged himself in prison. On September 2, 1967, Ils-Koch, known as the "Beast of Buchenwald," strangled herself with a sheet in her cell in Germany.
