August 26, 1937, Nankou and Zhangjiakou fell
On this day, 88 years ago, on August 26, 1937 (July 21, 1937 in the lunar calendar), Nankou and Zhangjiakou fell. Jing Ling's exhortation of the 13th Army reinforcing Nankou On August 8, 1937, after the Japanese army occupied Pingjin, they launched the Battle of Nankou in order to remove the threat of the side. On the 23rd, the town fell. On the Zhangjiakou side, the China army responded to the Nankou War against Japan and retreated. The Nankou China army was passive in defense and failed to cooperate well with the reinforcements Wei Lihuang, so they retreated on August 26. On the same day, Zhangjiakou fell.
