On October 31, 1918, the bourgeois democratic revolution broke out in Hungary, ending more than 400 years of rule by the Habsburg Dynasty, one of Europe's largest dynasties.
The formation of the Hungarian state originated from the Eastern nomadic people, the Magyar nomadic tribe. In the 9th century AD, they migrated westward from the foothills of the Ural Mountains and the Volga River Bay, and settled in the Danube Basin in 896 AD. In 1000 AD, King St. Istvan was crowned and a feudal state was officially established. The rule of King Magash in the second half of the 15th century was a relatively glorious period in Hungarian history. In 1526, Turkey invaded and the feudal state disintegrated. In 1699, the entire territory was ruled by the Habsburg Dynasty. In 1848, the liberal revolutionary struggle led by Kossuth broke out. In April 1849, the Hungarian Parliament adopted the Declaration of Independence and established the Republic of Hungary, but it was soon killed by the Austrian and Tsarist troops. The Austro-Hungarian Agreement of 1867 proclaimed the establishment of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Austro-Hungarian Empire disintegrated after World War I. In November 1918, Hungary announced the establishment of the second bourgeois republic. The Hungarian Soviet Republic was established on March 21, 1919. In August of the same year, it was subverted by a joint armed attack by imperialist interventionists. The constitutional monarchy was restored and Horthy's fascist rule began. In April 1945, the Soviet Red Army liberated the entire territory of Hungary with the cooperation of the Hungarian people. In February 1946, it announced the abolition of the monarchy and the establishment of the Republic of Hungary. On August 20, 1949, the People's Republic of Hungary was established and the Constitution was promulgated. The Hungarian Incident broke out in October 1956. On October 23, 1989, in accordance with the constitutional amendment, it was decided to change the name of the People's Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Hungary. The Crown Law was passed at the end of 1999 and a Crown Commission headed by the President was established.
