On this day, 88 years ago, on August 31, 1937 (July 26, 1937, the Japanese North China Front Army was established. On August 31, 1937, the Japanese North China Front Army was officially established. Japan's North China Front Army was formerly the Japan North China Garrison Army. After the July 7th Incident, Japan sent a large number of troops to North China. On August 31, the North China Front Army was officially established, with General Shouichi Teruchi as the commander. The First Army is commanded by Lieutenant General Xiangyue Qingsi, who has jurisdiction over the 6th, 14th and 20th Divisions; the Second Army is commanded by Lieutenant General Nishiwei Shouzao, who has jurisdiction over the 4th, 16th and 108th Divisions; directly under the jurisdiction of the 5th and 109th Divisions, China Garrison Mixed Brigade Regiment, and Provisional Aviation Corps. The task assigned by the Japanese base camp to the North China Front Army was to occupy Pingjin and nearby important points, and annihilate the main force of the Kuomintang in central Hebei in order to quickly occupy North China. The combat area of this front army includes Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan and parts of Suiyuan, Chahar, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei and other provinces.
