On this day, 86 years ago, on July 14, 1939 (May 28, 1939, the lunar calendar), Alphonse Mucha, one of the representatives of the Czech Art Nouveau movement, passed away. Alphonse Maria Mucha (July 24, 1860-July 14, 1939) was a Czech and Slovakia painter and decoration artist. Mu Xia was born in Ivan? ice, although his singing talent allowed him to advance to high school, painting has been his favorite since he was a child. He had a job in Moravia painting decorative objects, mostly landscapes used in theaters. In 1879, Mu Xia joined Vienna's most important theater design company and continued his informal art education, but a fire ended his job. In 1881, he returned to Moravia to become a freelance painter of decorative paintings and figures, and was employed by Count Karl Khuen to paint Hru? The murals of the castle of ovany Emmahof; the count was so moved by Mucha's paintings that he sponsored him to receive formal art education at the Munich School of Fine Arts. Mucha came to Paris in 1887 and continued his studies at Académie Julian and Academie Colarossi, while also providing illustrations for magazines and advertisements. On Christmas Eve in 1894, Mu Xia was ordered in danger when everyone was home for the holidays and the company's designers and artists were not there. She designed posters for the musical and musical drama Gismonda performed in the New Year on behalf of Sarah Bernhardt, the most popular song and dance star in Paris at the time. Unexpectedly, this attracted the attention of Parisians, and Mu Xia was also recognized by the company and received more and more design opportunities. Because of his outstanding achievements, he was awarded the title of knight by the Austro-Hungarian Emperor and awarded the Knight Medal of Honor by the French government. Mu Xia's works have distinctive characteristics of the Art Nouveau movement and strong personal characteristics. He has created a large number of paintings, posters, advertisements and book illustrations, and is also engaged in the design of jewelry, carpets, wallpaper and theater decorations. Beautiful women often appear in paintings wearing neoclassical robes, surrounded by rich flowers, and there is often a halo behind the woman's head. His Art Nouveau style is often imitated, but this is a style that Mu Xia never wanted to try in his life; he always adheres to the belief that rather than adhering to any popular design style, his designs are born from the heart. He claimed that art existed only to convey spiritual messages, and that was all; so he was frustrated by the reputation he had gained in the commercial art world and wanted to focus on more noble art and plans to make his birthplace more noble. Mucha visited the United States from 1906 to 1910 and then settled in Prague, where he added many decorations to the city's landmarks and theaters. When Slovakia became independent after World War I, he designed stamps, banknotes and other official documents for the new country. He spent many years creating his masterpiece, The SlavEpic, a series of huge paintings depicting the history of the Slavic people; he wanted to fulfill this dream of celebrating Slavic history at a very young age. In the late 1930s, when fascism was surging, Mucha's Slavic epic was accused by newspapers of being reactionary. When the German army entered Czech Slovakia in 1939, Mucha was the first artist arrested by the Gestapo. During a series of interrogations, he developed pneumonia and died of a lung infection on July 14, 1939. He was buried in Vy? ehrad Cemetery. Comments: Has a high ability to speak arts deco language. He has created a large number of poster works. His works have certain spiritual information transmission functions and are an outstanding representative of the French Art Nouveau movement.
