33 years ago today, on October 19, 1992 (September 24, 1992 in the lunar calendar), the statue of Lu Xun in Sendai, Japan was unveiled. On October 19, 1992, the unveiling ceremony of the statue of the great Chinese writer Mr. Lu Xun was grandly held on the campus of Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan. The statue is located at the former site of the Sendai Medical College where Mr. Lu Xun studied from 1904 to 1906. Mr. Lu Xun not only forged a deep friendship with Mr. Fujino and others here, but also realized an important turning point when he abandoned medicine and followed literature. This statue was prepared and established by the "Mr. Lu Xun Statue Establishment Committee" in Sendai for more than a year. The completion of the statue expresses the memory of Mr. Lu Xun by the Japanese people.
