In August 1993, the Legislative Yuan of Taiwan passed a so-called "Sunshine Act", which is the "Property Declaration Law for Public Officials", and will come into effect on September 1 of the same year. After this "law" was promulgated, many overseas media commented on it. Hong Kong's "Express" said in its editorial,"Say goodbye to the dark politics of corruption and corruption!" China said: "This is an important opportunity for honest politics to emerge in China society for the first time in nearly a century, and it is worth writing about. According to relevant reports, the "Public Officials Property Declaration Law" stipulates that the objects that should be declared include: the President, Vice President, the President and Vice President of the Fifth House, the salaried Presidential Office Senior Advisor, National Policy Advisor and Strategic Advisor, Administrative Officers, Heads of government agencies above the tenth level or above or first-level supervisors of equivalent state-owned enterprises, principals, military chiefs above the major general, heads of government agencies above the township level, public opinion representatives at the county and municipal level, and personnel with special positions that require declaration. These people should apply within 3 months of taking up the job and apply regularly every year. In addition, the spouse and minor children of the above-mentioned applicant are also covered by the declaration. Relevant commentators said that the "Sunshine Act" has finally been released. This is a victory for Taiwanese public opinion. Even if the Taiwanese ruling authorities are not satisfied, they will be forced to accept it.
