November 7, 1987 HIV was first isolated in our country
Thirty-eight years ago today, on November 7, 1987 (September 16, 1987 lunar calendar), HIV was isolated for the first time in our country. On November 7, 1987, medical researchers in our country successfully isolated HIV for the first time. These HIV viruses were isolated from the blood of a foreign AIDS patient who came to China. The isolated virus was proved to be HIV by AIDS-specific serum, and the virus was passed on to AIDS-sensitive leukemia cells and then proved to be HIV again by AIDS-specific serum.
