The anti-Yuan proclamation movement began. The following year, Cai E, the commander-in-chief of the First Army of the Protector Army, marched into Sichuan as the main force; Li Liejun, the commander-in-chief of the Second Army, marched into Guangdong and Guangzhou; the commander-in-chief of the Third Army was Tang Jiyao, the governor of Yunnan, who served concurrently and was in charge of Yunnan. With the support of the broad masses of the people, the anti-Yuan struggle was victorious, and Guizhou, Guangxi, Guangdong, Imperialism blamed Yuan for "breaking up the monarchy" due to changes in the situation; Beiyang warlord bureaucrats saw no hope of restoring the monarchy, and also rushed to divorce. Under internal and external pressure, Yuan was forced to revoke the monarchy on March 22, 1916, abolish the "Hongxian era name", and still be called the president. On April 18, Tang Jiyao and others issued a declaration demanding that Yuan be removed from the presidency.
