On October 19, 1956, Polish politician Gomulka reappeared
69 years ago today, on October 19, 1956 (September 16, 1956 in the lunar calendar), Polish politician Gomulka came back. Gomurka Wadysław Gomurka (1905-1982) was born in February 1905 into a family of oil workers in the village of Biawobrega near Krono in the province of Rzeszow. Joined the Communist Party of Poland in 1926. During World War II, he led the resistance movement at home. He served as Secretary of the Polish Workers 'Party in November 1943 and General Secretary from 1945 to 1948. After 1948, he was accused of committing right-wing nationalist mistakes and was dismissed from his post within the party. He was arrested in Krenice in 1951 and was not freed until December 1954. After the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in February 1956, political life in Poland underwent major changes. On March 12, Beirut suddenly died of myocardial infarction in Moscow, and Ohab took over as the first secretary of the party. The Poznan incident broke out in June 1956. In July, the Polish Party held the Seventh Plenary Session of the Second Central Committee and decided to improve the living and working conditions of workers and restored the party membership of Gomulka and others. However, due to differences on some major issues, the Polish party failed to get rid of this political crisis. On October 19, 1956, the Eighth Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Polish Party was held in Warsaw, and Gomurka and other four people were co-elected as members of the Central Committee. The delegation of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union led by Khrushchev suddenly came to Warsaw without the consent of the Polish Party and asked for talks between the two parties. The plenary session decided that Gomulka would participate in the talks between the delegation of the Communist Party of Poland and the delegation of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union as a candidate for the first secretary. The CPSU delegation returned to Moscow on the 20th after being explained that Poland would not do anything to harm the Soviet Union and the entire socialist camp. On October 20, 1956, Gomulka delivered a programmatic speech at the Eighth Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee. He once again reiterated the different development paths for each country to achieve socialism, pointing out that the key to Poland's current economic difficulties is to implement the following model of building socialism: reforming over-centralized political and economic systems; establishing workers 'autonomy and expanding the power of the People's Assembly; Developing various economic forms of peasant autonomy. According to Gomulka's report, the Eighth Plenary Session of the CPC Central Committee adopted the "Resolution on the Party's Current Political and Economic Tasks." On October 21, the plenary session elected the Political Bureau and Secretariat, and Gomulka was re-elected as the Party's First Secretary.
