Seventy-two years ago today, on June 15, 1953 (May 5, 1953 in the lunar calendar), the general line for the transitional period was put forward. On June 15, 1953, Mao Zedong delivered an important speech at the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, in which he made a complete statement of the content of the party's general line and general tasks for the transitional period. That is, to gradually realize the socialist industrialization of the country for a relatively long period of time, and gradually realize the socialist transformation of agriculture, rival industry and capitalist industry and commerce in the country. In September of the same year, the Party Central Committee officially announced the general line for the transitional period to the whole country.
