On September 28, 2009 (the tenth day of the eighth lunar month), more than 30 Confucian temples around the world today commemorated the 2556th anniversary of Confucius' birth. Confucius (English: Confucius ; pinyin: Kng z;), a native of the State of Lu (now Qufu) in the late Spring and Autumn Period, was the founder of the Confucian School and a world-recognized historical and cultural celebrity. His profound thoughts influenced China's culture for more than two thousand years. This year marks the 2556th birthday of Confucius, the great ancient thinker, statesman, educator and founder of Confucianism in our country. Around the birthday of Confucius on September 28, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the International Confucian Federation, the Chinese National Culture Promotion Association, the Organizing Committee of the Chinese Cultural Bond Project, the National Tourism Administration, and the Shandong Provincial People's Government will jointly host the "2005 Global Joint Confucius Sacrifice" event. At that time, more than 30 Confucian temples around the world will hold a sacrificial ceremony at the same time. This event takes Shandong Qufu Confucius Temple as the live streaming host. The content of the Kong Sacrifice includes public sacrifice, family sacrifice, and feathers music and dance performances; the six arts music and dance include welcome music and ceremony, music, shooting, imperial, book, and number six parts.
