On this day, 76 years ago, on November 29, 1949 (October 10, 1949 in the lunar calendar), Zhou Enlai issued a statement against the reactionary Kuomintang bandits fleeing abroad. On November 29, 1949, Foreign Minister Zhou Enlai issued the "Statement on the Kuomintang reactionary gangs fleeing to Vietnam and other places." The "Statement" pointed out that the People's Liberation Army of China is rapidly continuing to eliminate the remnants of the Kuomintang army and is getting closer and closer to our country's southwestern border. Chiang Kai-shek is turning their hopes to Vietnam and other places adjacent to the border of China, attempting to use these places as escape places for their defeated soldiers and preparing to use them as bases for waiting for the opportunity to make a comeback. To this end, the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China solemnly declares to the French government and the governments of other countries adjacent to the border of China that it is our government's unshakable policy to completely eliminate all opposition armed forces of the Kuomintang. No matter where the defeated Kuomintang reactionary troops fled, the Central People's Government of the People's Republic of China has the right to ask about this fact, and the government of any country that accommodates the Kuomintang in opposing the armed forces must be responsible for this fact and bear all the consequences arising therefrom.
