On this day, 33 years ago, on November 4, 1992 (October 10, 1992, the first "Hua Luogeng Mathematics Award" was awarded in Beijing. On November 4, 1992, the first "Hua Luogeng Mathematics Award" awarding ceremony co-sponsored by China Mathematical Society and Hunan Education Press was held at the Beijing Science Hall. Professor Chen Jingrun and Professor Lu Qikeng, members of the Faculty of China Academy of Sciences, won the "Hua Luogeng Mathematics Award". The "Hua Luogeng Mathematics Award" was established to commemorate Hua Luogeng, one of the greatest mathematicians in modern China, who made outstanding contributions to both pure mathematics and applied mathematics, and to encourage those mathematicians who diligently pursue the development of China's mathematical cause. Professor Chen Jingrun is famous for his significant contributions to the Goldbach conjecture in analytical number theory. Professor Lu Qikeng is well-known in the international mathematical community for his outstanding research on the theory of functions of multiple complex variables. Their award of this honor is so-called "The name is the true return". Professor Yang Le, director of the Hua Luogeng Mathematics Award jury, said at the award ceremony: "They won the first 'Hua Luogeng Mathematics Award', which was the result of 40 years of hard work."
